Headaphones for production..

Post by Armando »

Hi dudes,
I think that many of you as producers have a pair of headphones..Someone is forced to use it because is on the road or in his bedroom studio in the late night, someone use them just to have another reference from the speaker..however, independently by this, what headphones do you use to produce?
How do you find producing with the headphones?

Sennheiser HD 600's......

Nothing beats monitors for bass, but i'm quite happy with my results using my senns considering they are headphones....

Only 2 pairs of headphones I have are Bose AE1 and the Urban Ears which I got from a friend as a present.

The Bose are pretty nice even though they are not production headphones. Sound pretty clear, but bass is kind of lacking so I'm left to guess when the bass is loud enough.

It sucks. there is no replacement for good monitors.
youll always lack the feel of the bass, so youll end up turning the volume up and hurt your ears. so be careful when using headphones (i think semi open are somewhat of a solution to take some pressure off the ears).

+1 on the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro. Have been using them over a year now. Great quality and you can work for a few hours without suffering from ear fatigue.
