Carbon Copy Cloner
Carbon Copy Cloner
Anyone else using this program to back up a Mac. Is it just me or is it slow. Does it speed up at all after the first back up? It took around 10 hrs and still wasnt finished.
Re: Carbon Copy Cloner
why don't you just use time machine?
Initial backups can take a while, depends on the amount of data.
After initial backup it should be much quicker.
I dont know why you wouldnt use time machine?

Re: Carbon Copy Cloner
for normal daily backup, use Time Machine.
If you want to clone a hd before switching it, CCC is cool, but 10 hours? nope..

well, when I changed my internal 320gb full HD to a 500gb, it took only a few hours as I remember it, maybe not even.

Those times seem well above the norm, what sort of drives are we talking about?
I only use CCC for my boot drive and time machine on audio samples drives, but recently have only used CCC on all drives.
You're better off on the developers forums though no?
