OP- if you are still in the search for headphones, I would suggest the Beyer Dynamic DT880 pro to be worthy of consideration. They provide an excellent reference for late night listening/ work and I find few adjustments needed when material is played back over the monitoring system. I haven't needed to complete a mix solely with these yet, however I wouldn't hesitate to do so.
They are also by a fair margin the most comfortable headphone I've ever used, an important consideration for long sessions.

IMO HD25's sounded too boxey for production but to echo what everyone else has said, they are the daddy for playing live!

I bought last week a pair of krk 8400...i really like them, i made a track with them and it sounds good on my speakers.
