Hi mnmllvrs,
I have a Macbook Pro with Rane Serato Scratch, my question is: can I also record my sets using my microphone input or my external sound card (with usb) and an additional sort of lifestream software? I recently downloaded 'soundtap" but it just doesn't work....
thanks in advance!!!

maybe on osX but doubt this is possible on pc... because the audio drivers are ASIO and would take control over the whole audio interface.

You will need to create an aggregate device.

Basically, Serato and you USB become the aggregate device. You still feed serato its normal input and output, but then the record out from the mixer goes to your normal input, and from there, to whatever SW you want.
This is contingient on the scratch HW showing up as a core audio device. I've never used serato, so I don't know if it does...
