looking to buy a laptop.... any recomedations???

im looking at buying a laptop for around £500 any ideas guys?? iv been using an advent, but never again will i buy an advent its sh!t!!. i am using sx3, battery, halion and various vst synths and effects.

It's about the hardware and the OS, not the brand.

If it's all A class hardware, it's ok. Choose your OS, Unix based or Windows based.

My laptop is a Dell Vostro 1400 and is running XP for Traktor Scratch Pro and Reason 4. It has a Intel Core2duo processor and 2gb memory. That's the most important part, and of course your hd capacity. My CPU is never going mad!

It's been stable for more than 2 years. I have to say though that i've optimized XP for music production (Digital audio workstation) goals. (http://www.musicxp.net/dnn/)

They had the old white Macbooks in PC World the other day for £599 if you did fancy going Mac (reduced from £750 and in-store only).
2.13Ghz processor, 2Gb Ram but only 160gb HDD
