Finally here it is! The first born of the legendary Munich based technoclub that besides its
booking agency and netlabel now grows into a vinyl label. In this sense it's perfectly
clear what to expect: straight, nameless Techno by the Zenker brothers that due to their
youthfulness embody a new post-minimal generation for Munich and a brighter tomorrow
for the Free State of Bavaria. Technomusic had been kept up and nourished throughout
every crisis especially at Harry Klein, ever since. So it's all the more important for Harry
Klein to actively start forming their scene with some own creative output.
As well the cover totally positions itself in Bavarias southern metropolis showing the
legendary Sunshine Pub. A small intimate sanctuary for the castaways of the night, open
almost 24/7, existing in-between gay culture, afterhour and being a drinking hole ever
since. In Munich therefore the infamous Berlin question „ What comes after Monday?“ is
considerably easier to answer then elsewhere. And by looking at it more closely you can
probably picture the intensity of the gatherings going on there from the runlet of blood,
sweat and tears leaking through the entrance.
A: – DARIO ZENKER “`92”
Dario, the elder of the two Zenker brothers, whose releases on Vakant have been rocking
the international floors for years now, switches to warmer regions while staying subtle in
his gestus at the same time. Through a thick web of synthetical pads and dubby chords
amongst a stoically marching echoed beat, there subtly rising an anthem of noble
equability and concentrated elegance. Embedded in traditions between Detroit and the
sound of the Berlin 90ies the whole track morphs into a completely unique machine,
whose momentum of euphoria is carried higher and higher by synths towards its finale to
finally trail away to time and space.
AA: – MARCO ZENKER – “THINK TWICE”
Marco, the younger one, chooses a rather fragmented approach but soon, through a tight
bassline, he kicks off an irresistible housy groove providing a damned solid foundation for
the whole track. Above percussions, snares and hihats try to out-chatter each other while
the direction of the composition is determined from below. Two amazing breaks structure
the length of the track, each giving new impulses through the deep frequencies. During
the first break you already notice a certain dark drone pressing to the surface simulating
a short but mighty rave momentum that one moment later is being dissolved into that
increasingly oldschoolish groove.
