Sorry if posted before did a quick search showed nothing.
Really into making old skool sounding stuff. I'm not very good but enjoy working with the sounds
I cant afford the hardware (like most I imagine...) & hopefully without opening the hardware/software can of worms. (I know that a 303 emulator soft synth wont sound as good as the original.)
I have the d16 303 & 808 softsynths & they are good & accurate enough I think for tracks to sound like I want them to...
Is there any other emulators for old skool synths (e.g junos & moogs the 2 I know... or even anything they made sega megadrive/genesis game theme tunes with) please feel free to add them as I have a limited knowledge on this stuff as producing I am resonably new to been doing it on & off (mostly off) for about a year.
If anyone can post good links to buy soft synths or demos & the original hardware they are copying that would be great!
(Basically along winded request for synth recommendations...)
Thanks in advance!

http://www.plogue.com/?page_id=43 - i heard this are pretty good at emulating video game synths.
Arturia(moog, jupiter-6, cs80), Gmedia(Minimonsta, mellosoftron), korg Legacy Edition (MonoPoly, polysix, ms-20, legacy cell), Tal Bassline, Tal Uno60.
if your on pc... synth1 is amazing.
I'm sure none of these sound exactly like the original but that's not the point imo.

as much as i complain about these "noob" style posts... i find them enjoyable and always cause me to do some research of my own.

Do you think that that other 65-35% of the vibe is mainly because of the hands on interface? or are you talking about from a pure sound standpoint?oblioblioblio wrote:there's nothing wrong with emulations but I think even the best ones only capture around 35-65% of the vibe of the original units.
my favorite things about these emulations like the uno-60... is the inherent limitations imposed. There isn't 800 modulation routing available... the synth is streamlined and yet there is still plenty of sound possibilities.
