I did't arrive to make this 808 dub techno bassline

Post by tintin2085 »

Hello all,

I try but I can't arrive to the result of ths typical 808 bassline used a lot in dub techno and other more recent production even in house.

Anyone can give me tips ?

I have tried to play with the enveloppe... but the result alwasy sound like a kick, I want to make sound the 808 kick lick a bassline.

Thanks in advance,

maybe use a low pitched tom?? or EQ and adsr your kick? the "click" is something you need to focus.

might just be a sine bass you are after.

Anyway using an 808 kick for a bass is easy. Take a sample of it with full decay, then in the sampler, pitch it and put an envelope on it, then adjust the sample start time.

I think its the tom sound you are prob hearing, not necessarily 808.
