Unless you are doing something really CPU intensive (tractor isnt), then I would buy a computer second hand. For me the most important factor is the build quality. Some computers that I've had have lasted for many years. Others have had issues. I've bought new computers that have been less reliable than old ones.
Dunno how you can get a second hand computer reliably though... maybe you have a mate itching to upgrade? I wouldn't want to buy one from ebay or something. Too much of a risk it got treated like sh!t.
Spend the rest of the money on vinyl, or something that will still be useful/valuable in 3-5 years and beyond.

Im working on my Hip Hop and House Production, mixing ang doing some digital masters for other people, and ocasonaly dj from traktor, because im buying vinyl again, mp3s are pointless if your computer crashes... And i have to many tracks to choose sometimes... 100 vinyls, and 100 cd-s its all what you nedd at gig imho
