Rising star of London’s underground house and techno scene and French native, ROBIN ORDELL is causing a stir with his deep, bassy productions and regular feats behind the decks. ‘The Show’, his first release for Leftroom is an absolute corker!!

‘The Show’ first grabbed the attention of label boss Matt Tolfrey when ROBIN played it at one of the infamous Half Baked Sunday parties where he holds a residency. It made such an impression that Matt immediately approached the DJ booth to find out what it was and the track was signed before wit even finished! It has been a highlight of Matt’s sets worldwide ever since and Simon Baker even caused one of those famous ‘sit downs’ on the dancefloor DC10 style when he played the original at Circo Loco in Leeds.

The original version of ‘The Show’ is a groovy bass driven monster, complete with incessant piano line and great bit of spoken word , creating a classic sounding slice of Detroit inspired house. Weaved into its core is a looping sample of music commentary that takes on a mesmeric quality but ORDELL truly brings the funk with the infectiously groovy bassline. Already a firm favourite with Lee Curtis, Simon Baker, Nic Fancuilli, Seth Troxler and Craig Richards this has anthem written all over it!

The remix artist here, Chile based production artist Felipe Venegas, (Cadenza, Supernature, Objazz) delivers a striking remix as he strings out the percussion and funks the original into the stratosphere. Venegas breaks up the percs and layers them with a scattering of cymbals, while still keeping the funky bounce of the original.
