The ModernAssJazzSingers are an improvised and Loop-based electronic soul music band from Portland, Oregon. Drum machines, synths, pedals, microphones, lyrics, no songwriting. Spontaneous and noisey, a distorted blend of hip hop, techno, noise and jazz, prone to melodic excursions and tempered with sizzling white noise.
A live jam recorded on a balmy summer evening, straight to cassette tape. 30 minutes at 90 bpm.

Re: the modern azz jazz singers podcast 1
a little more information about us. the modern ass jazz singers are dave tevlin on vocals, and seth boney on the musics. sounds are generated on microkorg, boss dr550, tr 707, cell phones, tapes, records, and run through kaoss pads for effects and loops. TMAJS don't write songs, instead we hit record and let the music fill the room, as we invoke its presence it saturates reality and eventually reaches the psychedelic tipping point.
