if you can only be creative with programs that beatmatches for you

Read the posts and try to understand and assimilate the info before you answer , i never even mentioned it in that way but from your comment
i think we all should go back to the days where analogue synths did not store any presets because in those days you would tell who knows how to program the synths right ??? Do u actually think in what you are saiyng
are u stuck in time or what , worried with beatmatching ??
Well actually if u are BEATMATCHING Tracks u cant be as creative BECAUSE u are beatmatching but do u think i care what u do ? im not going to critic even who people who still use old tapes

@gustafsson
man sorry, but i have to ask, how old are you?

this has nothing to do with time, and progress

its like you asking all piano players to stop playing cause keyboards are invented, and they have all this buttons and you can be so creative with them...

do your thing like any artist out there in the world.

there are people who make musik with a stick and a tree. the differece between them and your kind is, they dont go to some drumer forums and start threads about the future of drumming.

it doesnt matter how many threads you people open, you never ever get approval from us, as long as you call yourself DJ.

you arent and never will be one. get over it.

now go think about a name which describes what you do, and do your thing.

and most important, dont be troubled whats happening with vinyl and turntables.

Not interested in dating u , but thx anyway.
Well u have a very CREATIVE interpretation of my posts .
Please read carefully i have writen
"i have nothing against people who play old tapes" isnt this clear
u can play turntables or flute what do i care
of course i do think , all things should evolve and things like beatmatching
the word dj also will change in the future but im not saiyng u should not keep doin it
do what makes u happy , i have seen some people dressed in 60s clothes
listening to old rock music with a big smile in theyr face now i dont like it
but i dont think they are wrong i just think we have diff tastes right

"Live remix" would be a good term to use.

There are some heavy contradictions in this thread..

With laptops, the challenge is to create a compelling performance for an
audience to believe in. Hands off the keyboard, eyes away from the
screen, focused on any number of controllers available to realize a physical
performance of your music.

The denial of the freedom that exists with a laptop performance over a vinyl
DJ performance is ignorance. That said, this freedom does not mean the
set will be better, it does not mean it will be anything less. The end result is
determined by who you are when it comes to music.

Either way, if you understand what you are doing, and if you understand
how to offer a performance people want to see and hear, you will have an audience.

Keep digging for vinyl, if that's your thing. Keep building grooves, if that's
what you do. All of us have the ability to see through the cynicism,
continue on with our respective passions, and make a genuine attempt to
get along.
