visiting Amsterdam 9/28-10/1 & need hotel recommendation

i am going on my first trip to Europe very soon.

can anyone tell me what area of Amsterdam I should look for a hotel in?

we would like to be close to where the clubs & parties are located, obviously. :) price is not really a factor, but we won't be looking for a 4-star hotel.

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I recommend the Get Lucky Guesthouse in Amsterdam. It's by Rembrant Square I think. No, it's not a seedy place to bring a hooker. The name is just really kooky. It's a very nice place with very nice staff. The owner is this canadian guy. The judges of the High Times weed championships (or whatever the fck they're called) stay there when they get to Amsterdam. I don't have the URL handy at hte moment, but just do a quick google search. Trust me, it's worth it. 50 Euros a night for a bedroom and 100 euros a night for an apartment. Very reasonable prices!
