The nice guys from Produkt Schallplatten are hosting a new old DJ mix by your humble rk.

It was originally a double mix CD I did for fun and for some friends, so that's why it's split in the middle. I recorded it in summer of 2005.

The mixes this time were quite carefully planned, especially the tracklist, and I did quite a lot of takes, especially of disc one, until it finally worked out the way I wanted to. The recording was live on three decks and without any digital post-editing. I kinda lost the patience on disc two, therefore it's not quite perfect. But I still like the flow both mixes. It's actually the last time (for now) I spend so much time on the recording of a DJ mix, I think if you listen closely you can hear the work that went into it.

I actually got another one to share, and I completely forgot posting it here. It's from summer last year. Thanks to global warming it's already getting summer, so here's something to get you into the mood:

This one was recorded at my home last summer, actually still on my good old belt-drive HTE decks... (hey, I kinda liked them!) Whatever... It was freely improvised, I just recorded it for fun and after a while it actually went quite well and turned out into a demo mix CD. I'm not 100% happy with it, especially the first 20mins the mixing is a bit hectic, and some records don't really fit perfectly. When I finally got it going pretty well I found myself already reaching the 80mins audio CD limit and had to come to an end. So the abrupt ending is a little tribute to all the times you have to stop performing when you don't want to. Still it got some good parts I guess so just check it out and tell me what you think about it.
