I have it and like it very much. I've only used it to control software stuff so far though. It's the best midi controller I've had and there's been quite a few of them in my studio. I like the automap function very much. I hate to assign stuff to different knobs and try to remember which one is doing what. The automap function together with the displays solves this problem.
Re: NOVATION ReMOTE SL
Zero sl here...Work flawlessly with my blackbook+ableton. Very happy with it.milc wrote: for example, do they provide right driver for Mac UB laptops?
Little weirdness sometimes with reaktor, a few parameters to change and everything is back to normal.
I've got it yesterday.
it was a bit weird first time becuase i wasn't really familiar with this automap thing. but after a while, i think it's really nice.
it's true that some applications which doesn't have automap compatibility can act a bit wierd. for example, i just can't find how to assign on/off toggle state to a button while not automapping.
i think i need more time.
anyway, so far, it's really good. it changes a lot for me, becuase i used doepfer faderbox and crappy m-audio radium.
having velocity sensitive drum pad makes me so horny....
novation need to update its OS to have more flexibility then i think i made a very good choice.

hold down "edit" button and hit the drum pad you want to assign.
then you can assign desired note number to that pad.
for example, ableton's built in drum machine is assigned C3, D3, E3, F3...so on.
once you assigned each note on your drum machine, then you'll see that the pads are quite sensitive.
enjoy!
