After a hugely successful, and proper storming initiation way back when in April, we were left pondering over how to up the ante for the next shindig. How to change the flavour somewhat, spice things up a little; so in that respect Transition will be taking a slide into even deeper, heads-down territory with not one, but two live sets from very different individual styles, yet who both hold their own in producing soulful, sonic grooves.

First up, veteran to the game Leopoldo Rosa aka Lerosa will be jetting over from Ireland to whet audiences ears with a live set of guaranteed depth. Starting out way back in the early 90's, Leo's foray into Djing began with hosting sets alongside Donato Dozzy at parties around Italy. However, this early kick start into the world of music wasn't entirely to Leo's tastes and he eventually packed up to leave for Ireland in 1995. Fast forward a few years; around 2000, after years of getting in touch with the deeper aural pleasures of Detroit and more experimental sounds, Lerosa began his journey into producing which, in short, has led to a massive array of releases showcasing a diverse range of styles. Although often noted for his house productions, Lerosa is far from being a one trick pony, and pretty much gets it spot on with everything he touches: from techno to breaks and (proper) electro through to his down tempo numbers, you're never quite sure what will follow from Leo but whatever it is, it'll surely ooze with a quirky soul, sticking you in a warm hypnosis and going straight for the feet. Further evidence of Lerosa's diversity is apparent in the range of labels he's worked with, and boy it's a big list: Ostgut Ton, Quintessentials, Yore, Real Soon, Uzuri, A Touch of Class, Further Records... we can go on if you like.

Taking things up a notch on the bpm counter - quite a few notches in fact - will be the emotive, Hi-Tek driving force that is The Third Man. Electro, Techno, Breaks, Acid; this guy knows the score and gives a respectful nod to his peers in the big D. Since his Clarion Call LP was released on the spectacular A.I. Records back in 2008, we've had our eye on this one, waiting for the right time to showcase his pacey Detroit inspired sound, and now with his equally righteous Messier 66 EP having recently been brought to light, via Applied Rhythmic Technology, it seemed like the perfect time to get him down. Although home to the aforementioned London-based imprints, The Third Man will be debuting his live show in the big smoke – and we're pretty chuffed to be responsible for it. To check what all the fuss is about, give your luggers a treat with this solid live set that's been doing the rounds with us - http://www.thethirdmanmusic.co.uk/?p=62

Finally, the spinning duties will be come courtesy of Bristol-based Furesshu, who, although being fresh on the block with his tech-stepping 'Untitled/1993/Horizons EP', has already garnered both love and play from Berghain's very own techno lords Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock. Not bad for a debut release, only good things can surely follow for Furesshu. Expect bruising warehouse stompers and sublime minimalism.

As always, warm up sounds will come from the ever deeply dubfunkin' Transition DJ's, setting the mood just right for the nights proceedings. If tuppence is at a low - with the end of this wretched recession forever being pushed further back - then fear not as, yet again, we're offering our beloved patrons the peanutty discount of £3 entry all night; if your not already on our list then all you gots to do is hit us up with your name at our email address transition.sounds@gmail.com. That's ONE name per email by the way, not "so-and-so + 12", ya dig. Be aware that we will not be including names on RA roll call for discounted price this time.
