Bassline on Inner City - Share My Life - (Kenny Larkin Remix

Post by hydrogen »

One of my favorite remixes here... and since there are some heads on here anybody know what synth kenny was using?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeIpCREmZ1c

I don't really care about the science behind the sound(dual osc, filter, etc).. but I'm just curious of the synth. I love how he multi voices it too. Soo good! :)

my first guess would maybe be korg ms20 but i have no idea... would be cool to know the original one! cheers!

It sounds like everything is wavering on that track, is that how it is supposed to sound or do you think thats a wonky bit of vocal?

No idea on the synth used, i'd ask over at gearsluts, they'd nail it pretty quick for sure

This song makes my brain melt. Ultra-classic.

sounds like a juno 106. he's playing with the PWM and adds an octave above on some points (or switches one OSC's octave manually). my guess.

good track btw..

i think it is the yamaha dx-100 or dx-21 again
if you are lot into older sound of techno, just buy one of them..

for example with dx-100/21 you can have bass sound for this too!

omg. incredible... i did not think this complexity would be possible with FM... just goes to show its the soul behind the instruments!

I just picked up a tx7 sickness!i know its capable... so its a silly question... did i get the wrong one!? lol.

love that model500 track too! so wicked.

Miro, gonna mess with the PWM of the juno its one slider i rarely use... :/ I'm using the juno mainly in saw tooth mode.

i think you can do the same stuff with the tx7
just use only four operators or even less and some lfo

in theory you can produce any sound with FM synthesis.
