They have managed to cure rats with tinnitus apparantly and soon to test humans in next couple of months in europe. Worth a try..

Good news for tinnitus sufferers..
If this study translates to humans, it would be incredible. I was born with somewhat mild tinnitus, but it's been getting a bit worse over the past few years. Had my hearing checked two weeks ago and it's fine (above average, apparently), but it's kind of disconcerting when you lay down to fall asleep at night and hear the ringing.
I wish I could just plug a low-pass filter into my brain-ear connections at night.

Wow, that actually helped a lot!!!!Android wrote:As strange as this may sound
Try humming or singing the note you hear ringing
Makes mine go away in a spilit second
I wonder why that works. I'm guessing its a psychological thing - makes the ringing seem quieter in comparison with the humming of the same frequency?
(this would be a lot easier if I was a soprano...)
