Anyone here uses Glyph external hard drives?

Im thinking about buyn some , im particularly curious about theyr behaviour
compared to the best drives like Seagate or WD for example

i have no knowledge of ext hd's, but from my experience seagate drives are crap. i've had 2 the last decade and they died in a manner of a few years.

Glyph use the same drives as you and me, the only difference is the case and choice of chipsets, wiring they use. For a travel drive I love the Lacie Rugged drives

x2, though one of mine broke the little usb connector off after a drop. Data was safe though :)

That's the main thing guess? Do you mean you had to pull the drive out and put it into another enclosure? I also believe they have quote good warranty

I had 2 of Lacie's Rugged Drive that both died on me, never again.

sh!t heh?

I used them on a tv production had 30 out in the field only had one that failed, I think it was basically DOA.

But yeah who knows, I think I basically hate hard drives with moving parts and looking forward to everything being SSD

I've had the same LaCie external firewire HD from maybe 5 or 6 years (yes, I paid $200 for a 200 Gig HD) and I've never had an issue with it. I've never really traveled with it much either, though.
