Fre VST Synths for 64bit Windows 7

Post by lejockey »

I have been trying to get some of the old free synths I used to use (string theory etc) to work on my new laptop but cant seem to make them run. I am guessing that it is because my new system is a 64bit windows 7 system rather than 32bit XP I used to use. Anyways, was wondering if anyone knew of some good free soft synths I can use? Doesnt have to end at synths, any good free plugins in general.

Thank you

@stomper what is this jbridge? I shall google now. Will it work with my plugins tho cos they all need to be in the right plugin folder? On windows7 I have both a 32bit set of control panel folders and a 64bit.

Sorry, my knowledge of this stuff is very very basic

32bit plugins should be installed underprogram files(x86).
jbridge is than used to bridge 32bit plugins to work in 64bit hosts.
not exectly sure how its done as i use the built in bridge in cubase but you should have all the info here
